6/8 — Takeaway 5: Community Banks Are the Sleeper Market - Forget the big banks. The most motivated clients are right in your neighborhood. "A world where there are no community banks, and there's only JP Morgan — that's definitely not the world we want to be in either." Rosa sees community banks and credit unions moving fast on Bitcoin collateralized lending — because Bitcoin's regulatory clarity makes it the simplest conversation they can have. 🏘️

5/8 — Takeaway 4: Block Space Is the Next Scarce Commodity - Most people aren't thinking about this yet. Rosa is already building for it. "Block space is scarce. It's going to become more scarce...there's a world where block space is potentially more scarce than Bitcoin itself." Nation-states, institutions, corporations — they'll all need guaranteed transaction settlement. @BlockSpaces_io is building the forward contracts market to make that possible. ⛏️📈

4/8 — Takeaway 3: You Cannot Rehypothecate on ARC Lynne asked Rosa the question every Bitcoiner is thinking: can TradFi's worst habits creep into Bitcoin lending? Rosa's answer is the infrastructure itself. "It's impossible to rehypothecate on ARC. It's absolutely impossible. The collateral is locked in channels, almost like a vault." This is how you build a sounder financial system — not just faster TradFi. 🏦⛓️

3/8 — Takeaway 2: Bitcoin as Its Own Settlement Layer This is the insight that changes everything about how we think about Bitcoin collateral. "For the first time in history, we have a pristine collateral that's its own settlement layer. If you're not taking advantage of that...then you're really not using Bitcoin to its full potential." @BlockSpaces_io built its ARC product so that collateral and settlement are finally the same thing. 🔗

2/8 — Takeaway 1: The Credibility No One Expected Rosa didn't become a Bitcoin believer from X. She earned it the hard way. "We ran 40 different protocols...there are some that are very popular now that I think will fail. I'm telling you, they're weak. That's not a theoretical 'I'm a Bitcoiner' conversation — that's we actually had practical experience with it." Real conviction starts with real data. 🔬

5/6 - Quantum computing is a black box — but so is the risk of overreacting to it. Israel raised the quantum threat, and John gave the most nuanced take we've heard. Yes, solutions exist, and devs have been working on this since 2010. But John flagged a danger most people miss: "There's a risk of doing nothing — and equally a risk of doing something too fast and doing the wrong thing." Rushing untested cryptography into Bitcoin could be exactly the attack vector a state actor would want.

4/6 - Ten31's investment thesis in plain English: strap yourself to the strongest rocket. @lynnerae pushed John on why Ten31 resists the VC label and invests only in Bitcoin companies. His answer: it's not ideology — it's math. Bitcoin has pulled in more capital than the next top 10 cryptos combined, and the TAM for money dwarfs every other market. "We want to skate where the puck is going and invest where the economic mass is accruing." Every portfolio company must be able to outperform Bitcoin — that changes everything.

3/6 - Bitcoin treasury strategy isn't just for @Strategy. It saved startups during SVB. @isramunozp asked John how Ten31 portfolio companies actually implement Bitcoin treasury in practice. John revealed that when SVB collapsed, companies holding Bitcoin had a lifeline that others didn't. "The banking system might completely implode on Monday morning — but you had a permissionless, global asset you could use to fund operations." Medium-term benefit: several companies avoided painful dilution rounds entirely.

2/6 - You can't understand Bitcoin until you see the water you're swimming in. John referenced David Foster Wallace's famous "This Is Water" essay — he argues that most allocators evaluate Bitcoin purely as a technology because they can't step outside the broken fiat system they live in. "Anyone allocating capital today is swimming in a monetary system where the idea of a scarce unit is completely foreign." That's the fish that can't see the water.

1/6 - Bitcoin isn't a tech play. It's a monetary revolution. @JohnArnoldTen31 drew a powerful parallel: just as the internet collapsed the cost of transmitting information, Bitcoin does the same for value. His take: "That is such a radically fundamental transformation in this key human primitive of social organization that it's going to have the same downstream impact across verticals." Most investors are still missing this.
