NHL commissioner Gary Bettman has long supported the current playoff system, which doesn’t seed teams 1 through 8 in each conference.
His stance didn't change at this week's NHL GM meetings, despite push back from some in the league.

I’d like to see Beane close out some of these deals he seems more than eager to talk about after failing to get them done.

When you repeatedly identify the guys you want but were unable to get, it eventually reflects back on the guy trying to make the deal.
It also reflects on the guys you already have on the roster. What are they thinking?

Reminds me of Russ Brandon puffing the headliners they were pursuing after firing Jauron … Cowher, Gruden, Shanahan and others. Then they hired Gailey.

I understand your point. I hope, for Bills fans, that Joe Brady is the next Mike Macdonald or Sean McVay.
A difference (and not saying it’s prohibitive) is they arrived after establishing bonafides elsewhere. Brady has had a hand in what Pegula got sick of. We’ll see together.

Nobody says this roster stinks.
The team hasn’t been good enough to reach a Super Bowl, let alone win it since Allen arrived.
I simply don’t believe a coaching change to somebody who’s never done it before will now magically unlock all doors by itself.

@ByTimGraham This notion that the bills roster stinks is really overblown. They have a lot of really good players to go along with the best qb in nfl. They don’t need to be situationally better, they need a coach that doesn’t play bend don’t break defense against elite offenses in playoffs.
