This afternoon, Mounted Unit Deputy Acuff and Master Deputy Harlan prepared Sam and Gerard for duty. With the great weather, it was perfect timing for them to be on mounted patrol at the Chesterfield Courthouses.

Earlier this week, the Chesterfield County Sheriff’s Office joined a panel discussion with 8th graders at Matoaca Middle School about the role of local government. We enjoyed engaging with students and helping them learn how their local government serves the community.

As a reminder, the Chesterfield County Sheriff’s Office will NEVER instruct a person to pay money to make a charge “go away”. Additionally, the Chesterfield County Sheriff's Office will NEVER ask you to meet a deputy and pay using a pre-paid card. NEVER.

Yesterday, our deputies participated in Read Across America, visiting Salem Church Elementary School to read with students. This nationwide initiative by the NEA encourages literacy and inspires children to develop a lifelong love of reading. We look forward to next year!
