@ProfRobAnderson There are lots of late 1940s early 1950s Ford tractors still in circulation. They are a good size for a small property and our bulletproof.

@NAChristakis It is important to note that only a fraction of the faculty anywhere make Political contributions. The lions’ share of the faculty are bystanders in these culture wars.

Yale’s governing body, the Yale Corporation, counted zero registered Republicans among its membership. There was a similar divergence in political donations at Yale, with $5.8 million given to Democrats and just over $102,000 to Republicans, a 50 to 1 ratio.

I believe two things are true of right-thinking civilized people: 1. They use the serial comma but call it the Oxford comma. 2. They realize that decision making is correct rather than decisionmaking unless it’s being used as an adjective, in which case it takes a hyphen. Only the barbarous do otherwise.

It is a sad commentary on the state of the nation that I am more inclined to believe what the Iranians say about the co-called peace deal than anything Trump OR the Democrats say about it.

@dilanesper What has gotten lost in all of the commentary is that the case against Newman is an HR matter, complaints by staff and law clerks about Judge Newman and her behavior.

I just read a district court opinion that described Gilmore & Black's Admiralty opus as "a treatise from 1975." ☠️

@ProfRobAnderson I thought as much, but I wanted to make sure it wasn’t real because otherwise I might’ve ordered it!

@seanjwestwood I'm curious if they paid prevailing wages, put in wheel chair accessible door ways, and energy certified appliances? And brought in archeological advisors to check for ancient remains on site?

"Last year, North Korea built 10,000 new homes in Pyongyang—more than either Los Angeles or Chicago." There has to be a midpoint between can't build anything bureaucracy and fascism...

I hadn't been following the Gino vs Harvard drama once it became obvious Gino was guilty, but this from Harvard's latest filing is nuts. They imaged the laptop at the start of the investigation, so they caught her when she made a fake, backdated file with "data" from her research

Justices Thomas and Alito continue banging the drum about the Court's obligation to hear cases that are left to the Court's exclusive original jurisdiction.

@maya_sen @ATabarrok The problem isn’t staffed, but rather low level and middle level administrators. These people make work for chairs and faculty.

Is it true that @BernieSanders "has three homes and flies private. He told Bret Baier about his 'Fighting the Oligarchy' tour: 'Think I’m going to be sitting on a waiting line at United?' and added, 'No apologies.' Joseph Stalin had 20 dachas while the proletariat went hungry."? If so, no shame either. wsj.com/opinion/our-ch…

@JohnHolbein1 Much better. David m O’Brien, uva, however, can’t be right. I’m pretty sure he never published a paper in the APSR.

@JohnHolbein1 I guess Hiram Stout did exist, but he didn’t publish nearly that many papers in the review and most of them were notices rather than articles

I'm very well aware that APSRs in the 1910s, 1920s... were very different from APSRs today. But this is still hilarious. Here's post American voter.
