@ashevat I think growth/retention/engagement/usage are all equal challenges that continually evolve in a start-up. What works in this phase probably won't in the next. Therefore, the founders approach to problem solving/ideation/execution/learning is more important.

When looking at a startup investment, I am much more interested in engagement/usage/retention, rather than growth. I am always surprised if founders/other-investors do not do the same.

Your job as CEO of a startup is to hire generalists to build and then hire specialists to scale. Pretty simple.

@paulg I've also noticed a lot of ML and even basic algorithms tarted up as AI. 🤷

The biggest technical trend I've noticed in startups recently is AI. AGI may be far in the future, but in narrower domains ML has gotten good enough that it can be inserted into lots of different things to make them incrementally better.

@SharLivingstone They're not more important, that's the point. Both are equally at risk of being pushed into desperate situations such as homelessness. We need to support both sides of the equation, not shift the financial strain of one side onto the other where the other is in the same boat

@SharLivingstone That's the point Sharon, they're the same people.. in fact, the average income of a landlord is just $2k/yr greater than the average of a tenant (both <$80k/yr). So why have such unbalanced reforms that only support 1 side?
