@KKGvoices @RashadStark A lot of these people are just looking to have a dumb edgy take. Jiraiya gave Naruto perspective, strength and love, which carried him through the series... And even when Jiraiya died, it allowed Naruto to use that time to understand Sasuke which helped save him later.

@RashadStark What exactly are we calling a better job? I can make arguments for both. Plus we see the story from Naruto pov. So we also miss the first hand account of Sasuke being trained.

@RashadStark In the end, Naruto was still walking the path of peace that Jiraiya wanted for him, and Sasuke had forsaken Orochimaru and his path long ago, why are we kidding ourselves lol

also I get that their scaling is kinda a case by case basis like if you're putting a nuke like metal sonic against cell's solar system level ass you glaze cell a bit to make it seem fair but giving cell a speed feat that happens AFTER he died is crazy

Oh sweet child it was actually pretty brutal. Not only were you made fun of relentlessly for liking anime, you also had to navigate *ahem* not totally legit sites to access these titles. It was the wild west of PC viruses and hours long buffering

@roycexxtrme1 Idk why we pretending like this only happens in Naruto lol. This is a common occurrence in any TV show/anime/manga/book/movie. Go to any Bleach fandom and go will see how mad they get about Squad 0 (pre tybw anime) or Ikkaku, THE VIZARDS. This is kinda a fake take.

No other manga is held to the same ridiculous standards when it comes to side characters. Oda and kubo are allowed to introduce characters and abandon them (rightfully so) but god forbid kishimoto doesn’t flesh out ten ten or kiba. You guys ignore every other side character.

@YFPixel @DynamoSuperX I never compared the show to the comics friend, didn't once try to. I will never understand why people think that TV adaptations are supposed to be like the comic.. Because that would just be a retelling. For what it's worth, Arrow is a fun show, 6.5/10, def had some bad moments

@AnnoyingPhag @VeteranAnon @seriouslyjokinn Depends on what stopped you from keeping track. Back then I would use notepad to write down anime I wanted to watch. The convenience tools weren't there, but life was essentially the same as it is now for anime/manga fans, just on a smaller scale.

bold of u to assume that at 2006 they would be able to watch animes 1 hour after it airs on japan with english subs, or was aware of which animes were coming out at that season im really interested to know how old otakus were able to operate and keep up with latest animes.

@seriouslyjokinn Yeah me caveman me cannot Google in 2006 to find subs of practically every anime. 😅 Back then you could literally find full episodes on YT, and there were a million websites that you could watch anime on. Trust, anime fans ate good on 2006 with no issue.

@jojographix001 I think Jiraiya stayed to confirm who he was fighting, rather than because they were students of his. It has been a while since I watched/read that scene but it always read to me as though he wanted to be certain of his Intel, though maybe I just interpreted that incorrectly

@CatsCodeLyfe Jiraya wasn't necessarily down played.. he had the opportunity to escape.. but decided to stay and fight dealing with the fact that the villains he was fighting were his student

The amazing thing about MINATO is that he could never suffer like JIRAYA did against PAIN. He would gather the intel he needs and either defeat Pain right there or come back with Reinforcements. No matter how overwhelming the opponent is, Minato is smart enough to know when to push and when to pull back, Smart enough to never fight blind twice and Fast enough to escape any compromising situation. His goal would be simple mark Yahiko and at least one other Path, track them to their hiding place, uncover the truth about Nagato, then come back with a plan designed to win. Fast enough to escape any situation. Pain would've met a completely different problem. Jiraiya died a hero gathering info. Minato would've used that same info to end the fight clean. That's the difference between them not power, but also in approach.
