Complicated reactions to complicated art. I am a better person for having seen and read it. The world is a better place with these stories in it. I'm grateful for the beautiful and kind genius of @AliceOseman, @joelocke03 and @kit_connor for redefining what queer stories can be.

#Heartstopper had a profound effect on me. Growing up, I only saw LGBT stories of sex/raves/rebellion and depression/self-hate/isolation. I identified with the latter in my formative years, and off I went into adulthood certain that was a pre-requisite to being gay.
