@zemnam @SaintSFGil why would you want to larp the most boring visual novel of all time
English

@JazineG Imagine the gameplay loop as if Persona was just the story segments where characters talk to eachother, and then battles, with no dungeon crawling in between, that’s pretty much DX2. Meanwhile, P5X is pretty much just a persona game but adapted to the live service model
English

@ChanceForClout I know I said a little, but I know practically zero about gacha games and have never played one. Maybe I should do some research (articles or videos) on them to also better understand.
English

@ChanceForClout What is Dx2 about? I know it isn't as story heavy as P5X, but there must be some type of story that holds it together.
Is the only thing being updated is new character additions or are other aspects of Dx2 that are being updated?
Does it have dungeons or areas to explore?
English

@NSuperGamerGuy @SuperWiggler64 OF ALL THE TIMES I HAVE NO STORAGE FOR THIS GAME ARE YOU SERIOUS.

SHE EVEN GETS A SICK TRANSFORMATION ANIMATION TO

IM FREAKING THE FUCK OUT RIGHT NOW MOTOHA LOOKS INSANE
English

@Jackhon_hk @DougDougFood Hate to break it to you but DougDoug is probably not a Maoist and is being ironic here
English

@DougDougFood yeahh I don't know about that... you can't find a more egregious labour exploitation example than the gig economy of food delivery. Deng maybe, Mao would be appalled.
English

@dudusx12_ @TheSkullKidman They even added hangout scenes to The Answer, for some reason.
English

@TheSkullKidman I hope the "sees don't feel like real friends!" crowd is happy cause it had to be made specifically to address this argument I really like the reload group hangouts that were probably created for the same reason but this is just jarring
English

@StairMasterNem @afro_ren43209 @osu_MeovvCAT Reload sold a ton and has a ton of people who will defend it from anything, I doubt that’s the case unless Japanese reception to it was significantly worse
English

@StairMasterNem @osu_MeovvCAT I think they’re trying to add as much as they can because they know there’s high expectations
English

@MysticGengar @BlxrryFN Plus Disney owns part of Epic, this probably isnt a super pricy IP for them to get
English

@BlxrryFN Not to defend the million dollar corporation but if they did intend to cutback on spending for this stuff after the layoffs, they likely already had contractual obligations to fulfill with this stuff + mostly finished skins. Ramifications are more likely to be seen later tbh.
English

dude….?
this might be the most amount of collabs in one update…
but remember, they don’t much money 😐

Disney Hercules x Fortnite drops tomorrow
English

@WormStrikesBack @Stormblessed_JI @Sonic_X_Fort I mean, I don't think most of that is true. Epic is probably making a lot of money, Unreal Engine has been growing. The layoffs are very unfortunate, and some of the people laid off make no sense, but Epic as a company won't die.
English

@ChanceForClout @Stormblessed_JI @Sonic_X_Fort Imma be real that'd suck but seeing how epic already is prolly bleeding money and has lost all the devs responsible for everything keeping Fortnite popular... yeah I imagine it's unsalvageable even with a full epic purchase.
English

@WormStrikesBack @Stormblessed_JI @Sonic_X_Fort Yeah, but they likely aren't just looking to sell Fortnite, they could be looking to sell all of Epic. Tencent might be forced to sell their stake in Epic, so they could be looking to sell it now, and in order to sell it for more, they're raising revenue and lowering costs.
English

@ChanceForClout @Stormblessed_JI @Sonic_X_Fort Selling Fortnite would cut the option to use it as a showcase and EGS physically cannot survive without Fortnite. They'd have to pay the new owner to keep it exclusive or make it a clause of the agreement which would potentially limit how much they can gain.
English

@WormStrikesBack @Stormblessed_JI @Sonic_X_Fort It really isn't, EGS and Fortnite serve to showcase Unreal Engine, which likely makes up the bulk of their profits.
English

@Stormblessed_JI @Sonic_X_Fort That's suicidal for Epic as a brand. Their Epic Store Launcher and entire revenue stream is dependent on being the Fortnite guys.
English

This was likely a part of why the layoffs happened. If Tencent was forced to sell, they wouldn't want to have Fortnite losing money, since that would be a liability to the (likely) VERY profitable Unreal Engine division of Epic. Don't be shocked if Disney acquires more of Epic.

BREAKING: Donald Trump wants to push Tencent to divest from US gaming companies. Epic Games (Fortnite) could be seriously hurt if this happens, as Tencent owns 28-40% of Epic Games (100% of Riot btw). Are we cooked? Tf? #Fortnite | Sources: @SouthieFromSTW1 & @FinancialTimes

@PureLaith @TheConMan2035 @BryanBendickson @JoJoJosiah_ @TimSweeneyEpic Working through pneumonia is commendable, but other employees who got to kept their jobs probably also worked through sicknesses. It sucks, but unfortunately, we live in a world with scarce resources.
English

@PureLaith @TheConMan2035 @BryanBendickson @JoJoJosiah_ @TimSweeneyEpic So are many of the 3000 people who kept their jobs. It's unfortunate anyone there has to lose their jobs, but we're in an economy that's really bad for game development right now, and Epic over hired for several years after covid. It sucks, but unfortunately, layoffs happen.
English

In the coming days, employers will see a stream of resumes of once-in-a-lifetime quality folks. An important thing to understand is that Epic never lowered our hiring standards as we grew, and the layoff wasn't a performance-based "rightsizing" as companies call it nowadays. It's a sound bet that anyone with Epic Games on their resume is in the top few percent of their discipline.
