This is why I don't buy the " It's their first time as parents" excuse. A 30 year old does not need to have been a parent before to know that insulting a child is wrong. Beating a small human is wrong. Some things are just common sense as an adult.

“you should always respect and obey your elders” is an EXTREMELY UNJUST quote. if an elder is treating a younger person like ABSOLUTE SHIT, that younger person does NOT owe them RESPECT or OBEDIENCE. being OLDER does NOT automatically make you deserving of RESPECT. age is NOT a free pass to be CRUEL, DISMISSIVE, or ABUSIVE.
RESPECT IS EARNED, not inherited by years. if you don’t know how to be RESPECTFUL, you don’t deserve RESPECT. the quote shouldn’t be “younger people should always respect their elders,”
it should be: “GIVE RESPECT IF YOU WANT TO EARN RESPECT.”
