@primo21_ @JoeyFortner32 @elonmusk I know a dude that worked at McDs investing in bitcoin in 2013 and now he’s a millionaire. I knew a dude that worked retail and quit for the oil fields and he made 100K living in a box.fam member did cheap online clothing in the basement in the basement and sold for $5M. LOCK IN

@ClasslessMike @JoeyFortner32 @elonmusk God forbid someone wants a new pair of jeans from old navy for $25. Or they want to watch movies or tv on their time off. Or they want to enjoy a good meal they didn’t cook. Or they want to explore the world and all the beauty that exists God forbid they want to enjoy life

@primo21_ @JoeyFortner32 @elonmusk People are welcome to live and spend how they please. I forgo eating out at $25-50 a pop. I don’t spend $500 on concert tickets. I don’t buy a new pair of jeans every year. It adds up fast. I worked in warehouse and lived with a roommate investing to make my first 100K.

@primo21_ @JoeyFortner32 @elonmusk I don’t live alone by choice… Why would any single person pay ~2000 for a one bed in Austin when you can live with someone and pay half that? You’re arguing FOR bad spending habits. If you want to invest, tighten up. That simple. Life gets easy at your first 100K.

@primo21_ @JoeyFortner32 @elonmusk Well 1 is a business owner supporting 1 kid, 1 lives with a roommate and is into crypto investing about $100-500 a month into BTC and ETH, and 1 has no overhead but she owns a property and travels frequently. 3 very different walks of life/types of people all doing fine.

@primo21_ @JoeyFortner32 @elonmusk Averages are inflated by 75% people not willing to deal hunt. A couple hours of calling/googling you’ll find something in the $100-$150 range. I live in a 1700sqft house in Austin built in 2023 with a friend. If that roommate is in PM, they get rental discounts too.

@ClasslessMike @JoeyFortner32 @elonmusk The average price to insure a Tesla is $220. Just that alone pushes you over $700 and not everyone qualifies for the 0% apr so add interest too. If your bills are less than 2k then you def live in a studio and shouldn’t be thinking about a Tesla.

@primo21_ @JoeyFortner32 @elonmusk Honestly, I don’t blame you. Most people aren’t willing to live extremely far within their means. They think buying new clothes, subscriptions, eating out, going to the bar, traveling, etc are all necessities while also not knowing how to find cheap housing or invest. Sad really

@cxmplll @JoeyFortner32 @elonmusk Didn’t do the research is why. Chase high yield accounts, rent a room from someone in management cuz they’re already discounted and charging like $500 for a roommate, eat out less and don’t go to the bar, scrap subscriptions, etc.

@primo21_ @JoeyFortner32 @elonmusk If you’re paying over $700 for a 529 payment, charging, and insurance then you didn’t call around enough. Probably settled for a bigger name company. Sad. Maintenance depends on miles. Rest is hilarious cuz all my bills are less than $2000. Rent, food, utilities, insurance.

@ClasslessMike @JoeyFortner32 @elonmusk 15 rule is monthly, charging, insurance, maintenance. That puts you at $700+ a month for this car. Above 15% of the average income. That’s before you add rent, food, health insurance, kids if any. People also have some form of debt. Say out of finance retard. Not affordable

@primo21_ @JoeyFortner32 @elonmusk And if you believe nobody asks me be my guest. haha I’m not an asset manager or financial advisor. I don’t care about anything but working for myself and the number of zeros in the bank account. If my advice helps friends/fam make an easy 5 or 6 figs easily, cool.

@ClasslessMike @JoeyFortner32 @elonmusk People can’t lose money with you if they aren’t asking you in the first place. No good money manager will ever suggest a 72month loan. And 38k is for the cheapest trim before taxes and more expensive than Honda & Toyota with compact SUVs closer to 30k than 40k

@primo21_ @JoeyFortner32 @elonmusk I’ve seen plenty of Honda and Toyota far more expensive than 38K. This is not just a “Tesla thing” being a cheap trim vs the rest. I agree a 72 month loan isn’t ideal but the point of this isn’t anything but what is considered affordable. Average car payment nationally is 750.

@dannisteele @TransgenderGirl I think you're just wrong lol. Not that I think anyone should buy it but 38k for a brand new car isn't really that crazy anymore

@ChadMoran @xgil4x4 @ElectrikRich @realMikeBlue Yes it does. Speaking as a Spokane born and raised, ignore the lower minimum wage and move to Texas. You’re not shoveling snow half your life and you can afford much more while being in a superior job market. Enjoy!

I don’t think people realize how affordable Teslas have gotten. A new Model Y is $530/month. (72 months)

@JessePeltan @elonmusk Remember when oil megacorps price gouged people to wishing they had a Tesla? The problem is that people who cant afford $5 gas cant afford an $1000+ a month payment for 84 months🤷‍♂️

@primo21_ @JoeyFortner32 @elonmusk Oh, and the “rule” is spending less than 15% of monthly income on car payments. $529/mo car payment at 15% of total income is 3,526.67/mo, which is only $42,320/yr. AVERAGE single earner in 2026 is 63K (SoFi). Stay out of finance retard. It’s affordable.

@ClasslessMike @JoeyFortner32 @elonmusk Yikes, I feel sorry for people that come to you for “investment” help People shouldn’t be buying cars that cost more than their salary dumbass. There’s a reason why I don’t drive a Ferrari And no 38k isn’t affordable for the average person if it’s over 50% of the yearly income
