Let’s be clear, there is no reason for #SFU to drop softball, golf or track & field, because of a move to USports. Other universities, including @ubctbirds have dual membership & field teams in those sports in the NAIA. These are purely financial decisions by a school that refuses to commit to its athletic programs.

Incredibly sad to hear that legendary former @ubctbirds head coach Frank Smith has passed away peacefully yesterday at the age of 94. Frank’s UBC teams appeared in 4 Vanier Cups, winning in 1982 & 1986. He was inducted into the @BCSportsHall in 2017🙏🏽

Schools should be worried because international athletes can't receive revenue sharing if they're on a student visa. Should have been in our session at convention today with @sportsvisalaw!

NCAA President Charlie Baker tells reporters that there are concerns from schools that international athletes could be violating their student visas if they get paid through rev share. NCAA is working on navigating that issue, but no answers yet.
