In this Korty’s interview with Asake, this part stood out for me. Asake, while prompting his car’s voice assistant to play him one of his songs, first spoke with a slight accent. But the voice assistant couldn’t understand him and he quickly switched to his original, African self. This, coupled with the usage of the Yoruba language in the interview, shows that to cement your place in the world and get the admiration of the entire world, you must be your original self. This is one of the best interviews I’ve seen and I encourage everyone to go see it as well. God bless all the creatives behind this.

@L1h1n0 @chiboyBigGod @stephenstaunchy @VictoryOlaleye I know all that. I used to be a minister and a Bible scholar. I know the story and it turns out that it's not useful to me. Respect to those who do find it useful, though... But it is just fairy tales.

@chiboyBigGod @stephenstaunchy @L1h1n0 @VictoryOlaleye I don't dislike the church at all. I just happen to have in-depth knowledge of its history and I don't think it adds any value to my life. I realize other people do derives value from it though, and I do not begrudge them doing what makes them happy.

@stephenstaunchy @L1h1n0 @VictoryOlaleye I agree it is stale. But part of the reason it is so overused is because it is actually true. I cast no judgment btw... I have my own things I'm brainwashed on. Adhering to one narrative or another is part of being a sentient human.

@iamSwaga22 😆😆 it's all good though. I have nothing against the church people. I'm all for people doing whatever makes them happy and spending their money in whatever way gives them peace. But I had to comment because like you said, that was a ridiculous parallel the guy made.

A lot of Christians lack the brain capacity to draw a reasonable parallel , na why😂🤣😂🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

@VictoryOlaleye Well, it's not poor people being coerced into contributing large chunks of their meager wages under the promise that their desires will be fulfilled some day. And the rich people throwing money in the club usually get instant gratification of their desires.

@0xveektor @VictoryOlaleye Churches shouldn't coerce anybody to give. But it is all the more violent that they do it to poor people, who make up the majority of their congregation. Nobody is coercing these clubbers to do anything.

@CombRazor @VictoryOlaleye No, that is your own understanding. You are projecting. Plus, if that is what your church is telling you. You need to start asking questions

Two most common words in Nigerian Pidgin remains “dey” & “una,” and they’re direct translation of the Igbo words “unu,” & “di,” which means the same thing in Pidgin.

@ChibuikeChined4 @AfroVII Fela has never been credited as the first musician in Nigeria. You think there was no music in Nigeria before the 1960s?

@AfroVII Fela is credited to be the 1st Musician in Nigeria doesn't mean all Nigerian music is Afrobeat, many past & present musicians tuned their music into genres that are unique and classified. Everything shouldn't be Afrobeats.

Something I learnt in while living in the US for many years... treat everyone with the same respect until they show you that they don't deserve it. That is why I I pick every call, speak to you in the same manner I would speak to the Queen until you start to ment...

Just keep making your films, Nigerians may not get your style but some people out in the world and a few on Iroko Tv will appreciate your value. It will be worth it.

@Lady_Meansie @jennienkem Quentin Tarantino doesn't know how to use Final Draft. He writes his scripts on a pad by hand. Woody Allen, Stephen King, Ethan Coen, Charlie Kaufman, George RR Martin... None use Final Draft. It's not about "skill" in using software. It's something else money can't buy.

When I used to write for Tinsel, we were lodged in a hotel, fed, paid per diems, paid at the end of the writer’s room etc. 10+ writers. All require funds. Screenwriters are working day jobs & writing at night to earn 100-300k & you want them to compete globally, how?

@CombRazor @jennienkem My overall point was that a higher budget for pay will most likely get you someone better skilled and knowledgeable. It widens your talent pool.
