For International Women's Day this year, we wanted to share a photo of nurse Joanna Stavridi, who served as a military nurse during WW2 and cared for 500 wounded patients during the Battle of Crete. Nurse Stavridi inspired Hailey Austin's story, Captured in Crete (issue 5937).
