My mom has always had a special place in her heart for animals, but none quite like Gemma. Eight years ago, after going through some very hard times, Della welcomed Gemma into her life as her first kitten and support animal. Gemma quickly became more than just a pet—she was a loyal companion, a source of comfort, and a true friend who helped Della through the toughest moments.
Two years ago, Gemma was diagnosed with diabetes. Della did everything she could to give Gemma the best care, managing her treatments and making sure she felt loved every day. Recently, Gemma faced another challenge when she developed an autoimmune disease that she just couldn’t fight off, despite all of Della’s efforts and the care of her veterinarians. Saying goodbye to Gemma, lovingly known as Sassy Pants, has left a huge hole in Della’s heart.
Now, Della is facing vet bills and cremation costs. This financial burden comes at a time when she needs space to grieve and heal. By supporting this fundraiser, you’re not only helping Della cover these unexpected expenses, but you’re also honoring the memory of a very special cat who brought so much light into her life.
