It's great that @Jeremy_Hunt has increased school funding. Giving hope to the 1.7 million children currently behind in talking and understanding words. Let's use this to give schools the tools and training to spot children at risk and give them vital support. #AutumnStatement

@smithsmm So closely linked to speech & lang development. Lang skills at 2 yrs are strongly linked to performance in reception & poor discrimination of speech sounds has an obvious impact on phonics. The best way to prepare children for school is to focus on language from a v early age.

The highlight of the day (& a future DLD star in the making),was a talk by pupil Maeve, her mum & teacher.They presented remotely to a full room and Maeve even took questions from the floor. Such insight into the joys & challenges of living with DLD,and a visit to parliament!
