I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: the NDP's mandatory ICBC no fault policy must be immediately repealed and replaced. We need to restore the right of seriously injured victims to hold at-fault drivers accountable. Here’s my letter to the legal community on repealing no fault and restoring self-governance to the profession within year one of a Conservative government. But let me be even more clear: At the very least my reforms will restore the "minor injury cap" system which existed from 2019 to 2021, but I think BC can do better. Too many serious injuries were unfairly captured as minor and British Columbians must have the right to have their cases heard by a constitutional independent judge or jury, not an online tribunal hired and fired by government. By studying and learning from other Canadian provinces which don't have no-fault, we can legislate a car insurance system that keeps rates affordable, while ensuring that those seriously injured on British Columbian roads can recover the best damages in Canada.

What’s wild is that the Minister responsible for regulating AI—the one tasked with its direction—has yet to tell British Columbians what the plan actually is. In fact, when he was finally asked about it, his response was so poor that cabinet pulled him from the follow up.
