Once again, the RFL is missing in action when another club goes to the wall.
And again, another set of individuals at a club treating their staff, players and fans disgracefully.
Nothing changes.

@johnnyddavidson I don’t disagree, a more robust system is required, just as it was when Featherstone, Salford, and Halifax found themselves in dire straits.
It can be easily rectified with a compliance department that can check clubs proof of funds and cashflow forecasting.

Craig, the RFL are responsible for running the sport. They approved these owners in 2024. They have taken no action nor offered support to those affected. They don’t bear all the responsibility, but do bear some.

@johnnyddavidson John, the RFL are not responsible for operating the clubs. At the start of the season the owners may have had every intention of fulfilling the season. Of their own admission things have changed.

@SalfordArmy At the risk of pointing out the obvious, the RFL were blamed for rushing through the owners in a previous due diligence process and criticised for it, and now they are likely ensuring careful consideration they are being criticised for taking their time…

Really hoping this delay by the RFL is not true. Not good if rumours are true they have been pushing for the council to make the decision who gets the licence. We have 4 weeks with no staff, no kit, no sponsers, no stadium deal, no ST sales.

I don't know another #rugbyleague comp in the world - except maybe Super League - that would include in its draw (which starts in six weeks) a team currently being liquidated.

Better to release a fixture list without them and then shoehorn them in at the last minute than kick off the season with them! Set yourself up for unexpected good news, not expected bad news.

@SteveMascord They had three alternate fixture lists to accommodate different eventualities during the off season. I call that due diligence.

@scratchingshed2 London will benefit from some off the field development, and a positive top 2 finish in the revamped Championship. The @brisbanebroncos should be encouraged to do some community work during their WCC visit in February.

The exclusion of London Broncos, for whatever reasons, is a further snub to the cashed-up NRL plan of what they think Super League should look like to make it relevant & investible - wagons circled, lines in the sand drawn. Not just the Ashes, let battle commence for #rugbyleague
