Did @CroftyF1 on @SkySportsF1 really say that Lewis’s comments about the FIA are harsh?!?!?!?!

Yeah, I didn’t initially get a chance to explain which bit I thought was harsh - which is why I clarified it after we spoke to Laurent. When it comes to Stewards decisions there is a full and detailed explanation as to why that decision was made so it is harsh to say there’s no clarity. But why some incidents are passed to the stewards and some not, were never given an explination. On that point Lewis does have a point (Charles and Max in Mexico for instance) and I do agree with him on that. Which is what I was trying to point out. :)

First off thank you for replying (I know you’re mad busy) but I did hear the full discussion afterwards with Karun and Jamie and given that, do you still agree with your initial statement that Lewis’s comments were ‘harsh?’ (I’ll also add that literally straight after you said they were harsh you had to throw to something else so the harsh element was left hanging in the air )

The penalty for Lewis was exactly about safety - Karun analysed the incident on the Sky Pad and showed how close to the exit of the corner people were. But I do think the incident could and should have been dealt with before the race and a penalty applied in race rather than carried over to Monza

@CroftyF1 @hermides73 That doesn’t explain why one was team and one was driver @CroftyF1 Nor does it explain why Lewis got his penalty for reconnaissance laps which gained no advantage So can you explain this one? It isn’t safety because look at my other posts about pit lane speed penalties

@hermides73 @ScottElliott10 The Stewards accepted today that no sporting advantage could be gained by leaving the garage early in a free practice session compared to doing so in a qualifying session, hence the lighter penalty. They state this in the summary
