The Mid-Atlantic region lies within a sea level rise “hotspot” where sea levels could rise faster and higher than elsewhere due to a combination of rising seas and sinking land. Sea level rise puts agriculture, infrastructure, water resources and natural resources at risk.

Mark your calendar for the 2025 Blackbird Creek Fall Festival Saturday, Oct. 18, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. There is no charge for admission into the festival, which includes information booths, displays, tractor-pulled hayrides, kid-focused crafts, food vendors and local artisans.

Today, October 1, is Energy Efficiency Day, which aims to promote awareness about energy efficiency and encouraging people and communities to use less energy, save money and reduce pollution.

Delawareans have some ideas on what the state could be doing to reduce emissions and increase resilience to the impacts of climate change, according to the latest Climate Change Perceptions Survey.

A majority of Delawareans are concerned about the impacts of climate change on the First State, and they believe the state should be doing more to reduce the impacts.
