THERE IS SOMETHING ABOUT TURKEY & ISLAMIC TERRORISM IN NIGERIA THAT MANY PEOPLE DON'T KNOW ABOUT. But I will tell you. You see yesterday, news broke that Nigeria was to send 200 special forces personnel to Turkey for advanced military training. And naturally many people had questions. Why Turkey? And they are right to ask that question. I will explain. Nigeria has been fighting Islamic terrorists like Bokoharam for decades. Then the Nigerian government in 2026, chooses to send its military to train in a country that has been accused is sponsoring Islamic Terrorists for decades, including in Nigeria. Do you see why many people would be concerned? Some might say they are nothing but accusations. But when too many different people keep accusing you of the same thing, there is usually something fishy going on. But stay with me. Let me tell you about some of those "accusations" that you may not have heard about and you can Judge for yourself. 1. Boko Haram —Nigeria : Alleged supply of sophisticated weapons via Turkish Airlines (2014 audio, resurfaced 2019) Turkey, via Turkish Airlines, allegedly shipped advanced weapons and ammunition to Boko Haram insurgents in Nigeria. Critics labeled Turkey a “terrorist state” for this. The claim centers on a leaked audio recording from March 2014 ; part of a larger Turkish corruption scandal leaks. In the recording, Mehmet Karatas; then assistant executive at Turkish Airlines, allegedly tells Mustafa Varank; a top Erdogan advisor, later Industry Minister, about the arms shipment to Nigeria. Karatas is heard expressing guilt, asking: “I don’t know whether these weapons will kill Muslims or Christians.” The audio was first leaked in 2014 but gained new traction in November 2019 when Egyptian TV channel Ten.tv aired it in a report accusing Turkey of arming Boko Haram. The Christian Broadcasting Network (CBN) and other outlets amplified it. On November 25–26, 2019, Nigeria’s Defence Headquarters (DHQ) publicly confirmed it was investigating the allegations at the highest strategic level, calling it a serious national security issue. The DHQ stated that it was probing the claims of Turkish-supplied sophisticated weapons to Bokoharam. Turkish Airlines immediately denied the 2014 claims, Stating it “does not carry arms cargo to countries where there is a lack of authority and clashes". "or to countries where arm imports are banned by the United Nations Security Council" An investigation was publicly announced by the Nigerian Military in November 2019, but no conclusion was ever released to the public. Guess who was the president of Nigeria in 2019. 2. Al-Shabaab (Al-Qaeda affiliate in Somalia): Alleged MIT transfer of $600,000 in 2012 Turkey’s National Intelligence Organization (MIT) allegedly funneled $600,000 to the Somali terrorist group Al-Shabaab between September and December 2012. The money was reportedly transferred via a Turkish operative (and his brother) who later became linked to Al-Qaeda. A January 21, 2019, investigation by Nordic Monitor, reported that U.S. Treasury intelligence shared with Turkish authorities, Identified Turkish citizen İbrahim Sen; a MIT-linked figure, as the operative. Sen and his brother were accused of making the transfers. Sen had previously been involved in MIT-coordinated recruitment for jihadist groups in Syria. Turkish financial crimes investigators (MASAK) looked into it but allegedly found no banking records and closed the probe. Critics called this a cover-up ordered by the Erdogan government. A follow-up 2020 Nordic Monitor report (based on a leaked classified MASAK document).. Claimed President Erdogan personally intervened to hush up the investigation into Al-Shabaab financiers operating in Turkey. No official Turkish admission or detailed denial of this specific claim appears in public records. 1/2.
