Thats not always true. Correlation =/= causation. People who would commit a crime were already at risk of committing a crime due to poor impulse control, with or without the influence of fictional media. The government doesn't care about the distinction between X is worse than Y, they only care if a precedent was set. They will find a reason to ban anything because it was done before.

This is proof that many schools are starting the indoctrination before 3rd grade. Perhaps your experience was different.
