On this day in 1913, President Woodrow Wilson authorized overt racial segregation in federal employment. Federal endorsement of Jim Crow policies was a significant blow to Black civil rights.

@KaiseratCB Will she have to show financial statements during the discovery? That will be very interesting.

Breaking 🚨🚨🚨
Sentebale is suing Prince Harry & Mark Dyer for defamation celebitchy.com/971440/

Having bled Sentebale dry and run it into the ground, Sophie Chandauka is now blaming Prince Harry for that too. 😂 Does this woman ever take responsibility for anything? Even a blind man could see Sentebale wouldn’t survive her “leadership”, and the timing of this publicity stunt is highly suspect. I smell British media collusion.

Please DON’T SCROLL BY. Experience this. 58 years ago today, a portion of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s last sermon, ‘The Drum Major Instinct,’ was played during his funeral service at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta. Dr. King’s brother, Rev. A.D. King, is seated next to Coretta Scott King and 5-year-old Bernice A. King.

On this day, 58 years ago, we laid my father, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., to rest.
He was assassinated for the work he was leading and the truth he was telling. In his final days, he was organizing for economic justice, standing with sanitation workers, and expanding the movement to confront poverty, inequality, and the moral direction of this nation.
What the world witnessed was not only the loss of a global leader, but the grief of a family, a community, and a movement. I was just a child, and yet that day marked a turning point that would shape the rest of my life.
Even in our sorrow, there was a call to continue. My mother carried that responsibility with strength and conviction, ensuring that the work did not end with his life.
That assignment remains. The work of justice, nonviolence, and creating the Beloved Community is still before us, and it requires our continued commitment.

On this day, April 8, 1968, just days after my father’s assassination and the day before his funeral, my mother returned to Memphis to continue the work.
My mother was a woman of tremendous strength. In the midst of unimaginable grief, she went back to the very place where he was taken from us and led the Memorial March with sanitation workers.
She did not allow sorrow to silence her. She moved forward with courage, conviction, and an unwavering commitment to justice.
With my siblings by her side, she led that march not only in honor of my father, but in solidarity with workers fighting for dignity and fair treatment.
She showed the world that the work was bigger than any one person, and that love, discipline, and purpose must carry us forward, even in our most painful moments.

Malcolm X and Maya Angelou in Ghana, 1964.
Malcolm X on his last visit to Accra had announced a desire to create a foundation he called the Organization of Afro-American Unity. His proposal included taking the plight of the African-Americans to the United Nations and asking the world council to intercede on the part of beleaguered blacks.
Malcolm’s last letter to Maya.
Dear Maya,
I was shocked and surprised when your letter arrived but I was also pleased because I only had to wait two months for this one whereas previously I had to wait almost a year. You see I haven’t lost my wit. (smile)
Your analysis of our people’s tendency to talk over the head of the masses in a language that is too far above and beyond them is certainly true. You can communicate because you have plenty of (soul) and you always keep your feet firmly rooted on the ground.
I am enclosing some articles that will give you somewhat of an idea of my daily experiences here and you will then be better able to understand why it sometimes takes me a long time to write. I was most pleased to learn that you might be hitting in this direction this year. You are a beautiful writer and a beautiful woman. You know that I will always do my utmost to be helpful to you in any way possible so don’t hesitate.
Signed
Your brother Malcolm

@KaiseratCB The nerve of this one calling anyone else, selfish. We can start at when the NJ state parks were closed over a holiday weekend. Then he took his family to one of the empty beaches so they could have it all to themselves.
