We often come across these terms such as CTO, Cabal or Cult in this space. These words are often manipulated repeatedly. Gullible investors lack DYOR skills, most of these traders become dependent on biased pump/dump shills that’s posted on social medias only to be used as exit-liquidity even when data is easily accessible. It’s better to learn from your own observations and mistakes than to be a naive trader.
CTO: Community-take-over, this is the most manipulated term in crypto today. A team launches, scams within few minutes and uses their alt to take over. The same team that took over then buys most of the supply at the bottom and slowly rugs again. Although 1% of CTO’s are legit, most of them are just disguised as one.
Cabal: Bunch of people sniping majority of the supply together before shilling it to the masses. This has its own pros, cons and is solely dependent on intentions. If the group holding that supply has a long-term vision and is transparent about their strategy then it can be highly beneficial for the project and the community. It can also turn out to be a farm play. Intention is the key-word in any projects.
So, what is the difference between a CTO and a Cabal project if both of them holds majority of the supply but with a different strategy? There is literally 0 difference so it all comes down to intentions and motives. While one may bash the other, the fact is that both can do well. That is why it is better to upgrade your DYOR & Observation skills, fail and learn from it rather than relying on biased informations.
Cult: Referred to a group that exhibits highly devoted or obsessive behaviour towards an ideology or set of beliefs. A community has to go through a lot of challenges and fuds to transition to a cult. When you see a group of people pushing a project despite the mc/vol being high/low, despite the market being bearish/bullish, despite any influencers supporting/fudding it then that community has the potential to become a true cult.
