CQB as an offensive force is for nation states
Me, as a civilian, even in the end of the world, will be using fire to just burn down a building if I really had to get the people inside.
Why would I enter?
And from a CQB defensive standpoint, a long barrel is ideal because you will be fighting from ambush positions. A 77gr OTM out of an 18 inch AR at room sized distances is like getting hit by a cannon. Throw a funny selector on it, and watch your enemies change shape.
You are not a nation state, and you will be in a defensive position if you ever have to use your rifle.

He’s absolutely right by the way. When the LVAW program happened, they wanted that “best of all worlds” that excelled at CQB as well. This of course did not work out, and even 7.62x39 has superior base armor penetration compared to .300 BO. The goal of finding the perfect all in one platform is in many ways a pipe dream.

It would be helpful if people clarified that AI data centers are causing this concern. Traditional data centers certainly come with their own issues but, where a traditional data center might operate at 10-20 MW, AI data centers are designed for 100-300 MW, even 1 GW
