At today’s @CropLifeEU Conference #CLEConference2026, Copa-Cogeca Secretary General @ElliTsiforou sent a clear message to policymakers and stakeholders: "There needs to be more ambition in the Food & Feed Simplification Package if we want farmers to continue farming. The debate on simplification must deliver concrete solutions on the ground." She also highlighted the risks posed by budget cuts and the erosion of commonality in the future CAP, which threaten investments in knowledge and innovation, critical drivers of both economic and environmental benefits for the sector. 🇪🇺 farmers need a clear strategic direction that supports productivity and growth. The EU’s future competitiveness agenda must place agriculture and the broader agri-food sector at its core, recognising them as essential economic and strategic assets for Europe.
