The replies to this got me crying. Every big city has these kinds of suburbanites. Afraid to walk around downtown Indianapolis? So many people are scared of their own shadow
Nathan Rodgers@iN8Rodgers

The whole country: Wow, Indy is the best host city. Underrated. I’m having the best time. Scared pissless northsiders: DO NOT GO DOWNTOWN. YOU WILL DIE. I HAVEN’T BEEN SOUTH OF 465 IN 15 YEARS BUT IT’S A LAWLESS WARZONE. YOU MIGHT SEE A BLACK PERSON.

@GfedGoCrazy Silver spoon BS. There’s a few downtown hotels that would be considered very high end for normal people, but the city doesn’t have 5-star hotels large enough to accommodate entire teams like most NBA cities. There isn’t a Ritz Carlton or Four Seasons

Meanwhile reclusive but uber rich ownership is gouging the city for arena renovations during lease negotiations, which indirectly drove out one of the city’s minor league sports franchises. In all of this, average citizens lose. The ones who could make a difference are apathetic

The types of rich people in the city and suburbs who take the team for granted are same types LeBron is pandering to in that video. Guys who would rather hit the links and drive to SEC football games on the weekends than support the city’s big cultural assets

Memphis has a bunch of citizens who love basketball and the Grizzlies but can’t afford to go to every game, just like every city. The city also has enough rich people to buy up every season ticket 10 times over. The problem is rich Memphians don’t love basketball like that

The low attendance argument from people who try to justify relocation is especially annoying because it’s the same people who think Seattle is owed a franchise now. I think Seattle deserves their team back too, but their attendance sucked for years prior to relocation iirc

All I’ll say is it’s interesting that the high profile examples of players/coaches bringing up relocating the Grizzlies to Nashville unprompted are all Klutch clients afaik

All this does is play with the emotions of entire communities. It’s even worse when it’s cities with only 1 pro team

I was about to ask what kind of business he has in Cross County Arkansas but I forget how beautiful Parkin Archeological Park is this time of year

@alexwinton_ @memgrizz Yep. I have no problem with the current logo. It’s one of the best in the league and I actually like it better than the retro one though I’m probably in the minority. The current jerseys are lifeless though they look like corporate memos

@alexwinton_ Basically the same thing happened with Jaren. His second contract was a relative bargain because he had multiple injury shortened seasons on his rookie deal

@alexwinton_ Could be a blessing in disguise too if his ankle issues don’t persist past this season since you can likely extend him for good value. I’m not counting on it since he’s a big man with a lower body injury but even worst case scenario you don’t have to commit long term money to him

Eh depends on this draft first before I feel that way. Can set you back, but ultimately if you get Boozer on luck or you get one of these guards and they become a star, you are still in a decent spot and have assets more than likely to get a frontcourt player.
EB@EzBz_

@alexwinton_ I haven’t given it a ton of thought, but a lot of the outlook for the rebuild rests on his ankle. Like we’re in a terrible place if he is never right.

There was a moment where these types of players rose to prominence where it felt like they could lead contenders. But defenses are smarter now and exploit predictable offense. Good luck executing late in games with four uninvolved guys standing still on the perimeter
