This book is amazing!!! I love that it is applicable for teaching high school! An explosion of ideas on how to cultivate curiosity. I love this chart. A great #SAT prep idea. @dbc_inc #KeepingTheWonderBook @EngagingStaci @jennacopper @BLDGBookLove @writeonwmissg #EnglishTeacher

Q4 A: I'm always looking for inspiration. Whenever I find myself feeling that sense of wonder, I think, "How can I recreate this in my classroom?" Recently, I played in Backyard Olympics, and now I have tons of ideas for games in the classroom! #tlap
English

A2: I love to spark their curiosity with little hints- through slides or GoogleClassroom posts or hinting at a future lesson or even something posted on my door. #tlap

@TaraMartinEDU @AnnickRauch Lol! That sounds so cute though!

@AnnickRauch And, they never forget anything!
"You have a surprise...is it time yet?...what about now? Or...now?"
5 mins apart from each other ;)

A1 I feel like the element of surprise is good at any age… but for my grade 1 students, it really doesn’t take much. They notice everything. New box in the corner of the room? New toy or manipulative? Even just “I have something special to show you later and I can’t wait” #tlap

Q3 A: I often look at the UDL guidelines for recommendations and ideas for providing more choice in both how students learn and how they demonstrate their learning. #tlap

@ErmaLuis1 @jennacopper @burgessdave @writeonwmissg @BLDGBookLove Oohh the preset student anchor sounds good!

Continent on the group - know your students.
Could be a:
👉 prop
👉 question
👉 discussion
👉 me dressing up ...in a lab coat, costume, wig, etc.
👉 setting a scene
👉 preset student anchor

Q2: The second element is curiosity. What's your favorite way to spark students' curiosity? #tlap #keepingthewonderbook @burgessdave @writeonwmissg @EngagingStaci @BLDGBookLove

English

@writeonwmissg @BLDGBookLove You beat me to this comment, Abby!!
English

A2: My favorite way to spark students' curiosity is through making simple changes to my room for each new unit. Sometimes it's new posters or decor, and other times I simply hit play on new music or ambient media. #KeepingTheWonderBook #TLAP
English

Q2 A: I love sparking students' curiosity with the first slide on the board. When they walk in, they naturally look to the board area. How can you use that to capitalize on their curiosity? #tlap
English

A1: I love using unique props to surprise my students at the beginning of a lesson. Sometimes, I'll just place it in a central position and just let them *wonder* why it's there. EX a witches' hat in the middle of the classroom to start Macbeth. #tlap
