Even factoring in their good wages and services, it seems unlikely that they are in any way dependent on the CS:GO money. They are just maximizing profit like companies usually do.

I consider this a personal victory. Every person I demotivate from learning Japanese is one less person I have to hear saying, "OMG SUKOI DESOO! That girl's dress is very kowaii." Give up. Japanese is too hard. I hope they make deals with major publishers so this app can reduce friction on reading with material that is actually interesting to read so it feels less like homework. The most frustrating thing is that there are game changing language apps constantly being created yet the main place people are going is WaniKani and Duolingo. I'm waiting for Migaku to incorporate AI in voice detection so it can cut the time it takes to learn pitch accent by 90%. Their pitch trainer is already cracked in terms of getting you to hear pitch patterns.

@TBYSTweet @storvensen Most Switch 2 versions are free updates, BoTW/ToTK are 10 bucks because they are not a few lines of code. Neither is it being sold as a new game, it's an optional 10 buck DLC you can skip, or just pay by itself if you already have the game. Also, the only 2 pure upgrades.

Writing a couple of lines of code to make it compatible with a new device is not a new game. I actually find it disheartening to see how many people will justify Nintendo and companies like it using this as a business strategy to print money instead of making money by innovating new concepts and titles. Then again, these might be the same people who are sucking off boring slice of life anime instead of stuff that is created by people who don't have to resort to softcore porn because they can actually write. Charging full price for a game that is close to a decade old is looking to the past, not towards the future. Every big creative company and their grandma is doing this shit and it's annoying. Innovation from a big developer seems like a rare thing these days.
