Sanding MDF “just for a minute”? That fine dust hangs in the air and can get deep into your lungs. 🪵😷 For most MDF sanding, FFP3 (P3) is best practice—and fit matters as much as filtration. Read our guide.

Cutting concrete or sanding plaster? That “just dust” can include respirable crystalline silica. For most site tasks, FFP3 is the safer default—FFP2 is often only for light, short jobs. Are you wearing the right mask? 🛠️

Wood dust isn’t just ‘nuisance’—fine sanding particles can hang in the air for hours. 😷 Are you relying on the wrong mask? Our UK guide explains when to choose FFP3/P3, how fit makes or breaks protection, and comfort options.

Silica dust isn’t “just dust” — it can scar lungs for life. ⚠️ Are your controls + mask choice actually right for cutting, chasing or grinding? We’ve put together a complete UK site guide: hierarchy of controls, FFP3/P3 basics, and why fit testing matters. 🏗️

Think TH2P and P3 are the same “filter rating”? They’re not. TH2P is a PAPR hood/helmet system class (EN 12941); P3 is a filter class for tight-fitting masks (EN 143/14387). Which do you need? 😷

Your respirator filter might be “in date” and still be spent. 😬 P filters usually tell you by getting harder to breathe through… but gas/vapour cartridges can fail with little warning. Plus, NR disposables are single-shift. Know the signs. 🔎

Picking the “strongest” respirator filter can be the wrong move. Dust needs P. Vapours need A/B/E/K. Many jobs need combo filters like A2P3. Know the stop signs (low O2/unknown hazards). Read our UK guide 👇

Seeing A2P3 on a respirator filter and assuming it “covers everything”? It doesn’t. A2 = organic vapour capacity class, P3 = highest particulate efficiency. Here’s what it actually protects against (and when it’s the wrong choice) 😷
