There's no question @MarkJCarney has an extraordinary amount of political capital right now. Using it for incremental tinkering would be a shame. The tariff crisis last year as I've argued many times handed Canada a rare opportunity to pursue politically difficult but necessary structural reforms, the kind even Conservatives were too timid to touch. That moment was largely squandered.
Now Carney faces the same test. If all this political capital results in minor tweaks and managerialism, he risks wasting the biggest mandate for economic reform Canada has seen in years.
