Anyone have some high quality flax that they have harvested already? Thinking western Sask and Alberta are most likely harvesting that good stuff.

@DarrelWaldnee @EGOPowerPlus Yes they do. I’ve been looking at their pressure washer thinking it would be nice to set up with an old chem tote for mobile washing.

@FarmLifeMB @EGOPowerPlus I've got the smaller 530 blower (also a beast) and a string trimmer for the house. Ego makes awesome products.

If you don't have a leaf blower to clean/blow off your combines..... You need one. This @EGOPowerPlus is a beast!!!

@FarmLifeMB Unlike phytosanitary arguments in past, Chinese govt is arguing increased Cdn exports are undercutting domestic prices/industry in China. Not clear yet what next steps could be, whether they would take it to WTO or act arbitrarily.

Canola Council says it's awaiting further details on China's investigation. Ag Minister MacAulay says China's action on canola is "deeply concerning" & gov't "will continue to defend and support the sector every step of the way." Updated with quotes: realagriculture.com/2024/09/china-…

@FarmLifeMB @landon707 @LowBoomLowDrift I was told recently by a fellow that sprays sugar on soybeans that it deters pests, it doesn't kill them. So he sprays it before the bugs arrive so that they'll choose another field to eat.

Molasses to control flea Beatles in canola. Does it work ? Seed treatment or foliar spray? Have you tried it? Educate me?

@landon707 @LowBoomLowDrift I tried mixing up some Roger’s white sugar as a test on some late season beetles a number of years ago. Didn’t do a thing.

@FarmLifeMB My memory of the 80s was drought, poor prices and labour disruptions with rail and port services. And some good music… I guess it wasn’t all bad. Seems like the 80s are making a comeback.

Do farmers have any legal recourse against the rail companies for a lack of service given they are a duopoly? There is no reason they should not have sorted out their labour issues earlier.

@Russell1Tyler @AllamFarmer I think this one falls on the gov. Was initially supposed to happen in May, but gov wanted to study the safety. That pushed it back to now.

@o2farms_sk Likely wishful thinking unfortunately. I don’t know enough about all the legal agreements with the gov, but in my uneducated opinion there should be some recourse for farmers and the economy at large.
