@ArtaMoeini That is a card they won't use yet (that would hurt Saudis and they don't want that, yet). US blockade is not 100% and can't be either. US won't dare to stop Chinese tankers. Moreover, Trump will give up on this scheme too, soon is my guess.

As expected, Trump blinked first by unilaterally extending the ceasefire without a deadline. By imposing this state of "limbo" between war & peace, Trump hopes to restore the pre-war status quo: an economic siege and perpetual threat meant to squeeze Tehran. Iran will almost certainly find this situation untenable. It has consistently demanded a total end to the war rather than a cold peace or a frozen conflict like the one after the 12-day war. This "limbo" is just the kind of scenario Iranian strategists anticipated and were warning against. Meanwhile, 40 days of war and successful resistance against US-Israeli aggressions have altered Tehran's strategic calculus, emboldening those who champion the utility of force & the prohibitive logic of the "battlefield" (meydan). ​The current status quo places a greater burden on the Islamic Republic than on Washington, a pressure that will only intensify so long as the blockade persists. Consequently, it's only a matter of time before Iran attempts to impose new regional costs of its own to break the US blockade, a move that would likely collapse the fragile ceasefire entirely.

Trump has done a TACO, again. This is the biggest and most humiliating one, but it's the best one because it's the one for peace. PEACE. But now comes the tricky part, negotiations and acceptance of 90%, or 80% of Iran's demands. It's going to be extremely difficult. Iran has time, but the clock is ticking. USA and the West has not much time at all, max 2-3 weeks. The pressure to bomb Iran is going again to become intense.

@pati_marins64 Actually, Iran is still selling, to China and others. Several tankers and cargo ships passed. They can't stop everything. And they are exchanging by land and Caspian as well. No chance Iran will fold.

This stance is much firmer and more resolute than what we had been observing until now. Iran has come out of the corner and once again placed the pressure of shortages and inflation squarely on Trump’s shoulders, after he had enjoyed a more comfortable position for the past few days. Now the question is who can withstand more pressure: Now the question is who can withstand more pressure: Iran, unable to sell its oil and completely dependent on Chinese loans, or Trump, who is being squeezed by the markets, his allies, and inflation that is eroding his political capital as an election approaches?

🚨Iranian official tells me that as of this moment (3:38PM ET), Iran won't attend a new round of talks. Official says Pakistan told Iran that Trump will lift the naval blockade in final hours of the ceasefire. If that happens & ceasefire extended, new talks could happen Thursday.

Trump says he'll give some kind of financial bailout to the UAE, because he found it "shocking" they were hit so hard; he thought Iran would only try to strike Israel. (So in other words, there was instant escalation beyond what he anticipated, and now the US will foot the bill)

I spoke with the President of the European Commission, @vonderleyen. First and foremost, we discussed the unblocking of a €90 billion support package. These funds will strengthen not only Ukraine but all of Europe, and it is important that we begin receiving them soon. All necessary steps on Ukraine’s side have been taken. We also addressed other European issues. It is entirely fair to open negotiation clusters on our EU membership – technically, Ukraine is already fully prepared.
