Electrons will flow from rusting metal(oxidation) to less rusting metal, whilst +ions from rusting metal now in saltwater are attracted to less rusting metal, this metal now more positive attracts electrons (reduction). I.e. we have electricity flow.

@BingBongFun @mracekpavel1 @engineers_feed Generally to make an electrical cell, you need 3 components: 2 dissimilar metals and an electrolyte. Saltwater acts as a good electrolyte. There are probably to metals immersed in the saltwater which reacts. Ie one that loses electrons (e) the other that gains e. It's rusting.

@Engineers_malta @engineers_feed Approx 5v to 5.2v with 5 to 5.2mA going through the 1K resistor. Think about when the Z diode breaks down & starts to conduct also use a bit of ohms law. I hope that's helpful.
