You know it was a great day in @FirstTNCORE when the CTE CORE Consultant, Pathways Regional Coordinator, TN Dept of Labor, American Job Center, and WIOA all sat down to discuss how we can work together to support students and workforce development! Great group & common goals!!

Commissioner Schwinn welcomed the attendees at the TN STEM Innovation Summit where she shared the importance of STEM in education, career exploration, and post secondary connections.

STEM and Career Connections...think outside the box to engage learners! CTE Consultant Tina Faust partnered with teachers from Lakeland Middle Preparatory School (@Northwest_CORE region) at the TN STEM Innovation Summit.

Just launched version 1.1 of the TN CTE Standards app for iOS with the following programs of study added: Cosmetology, Digital Arts, Coding, and Criminal Justice. Let us know what you think.

T/Y for stopping by to see my @chiefslive CTE students. Today was the final leg of the Cherokee CTE Roadshow. We’ve presented 6 programs of study to 1200 elementary students at 6 feeder schools in 3 days. Very proud of my kiddos & my Ts who inspire & educate them. @FirstTNCORE

CTE on Wheels — Hawkins Co CTE students visit elementary schools to discuss programs of study, post secondary options, and demonstrate skills. Kudos on introducing Cosmetology, Ag Science, Welding, Health Science, Teaching as a Profession, Robotics, and Industrial Electricity!

Happy Valley HS,Carter Co, was 1 of 186 in the nation & 1 of 3 host schools in TN, chosen to participate in the Skills USA&Kline Tools National Signing Day. 12 students qualified to work/attend postsecondary w/electrical, plumbing,HVAC & carpentry. Congratulations! #SkillsNSD2019

Early CTE exposure is a great way to expand student opportunity, connect elementary to high school, and grow CTE programs. 53 Gray Elementary kindergarten students explored Ag, Health Science, Cosmetology, and Human Services at Daniel Boone. Kudos to @WCDE_TN on starting early!

CTE Consultant Tina Faust & Pathways Coordinator Mary Oxendine-Woodby joined the NE Workforce Development Regional Inter-Agency Coordination Team. They convened to leverage partnerships, share best practices, and encourage working together for community and student development.

The Johnson City STEAM bus incorporates module-based activities within @jcityTNschools elementary schools. Marsha Salyer and Mike Crumley’s CTE students did an excellent job at applying project based learning when they designed the interior and exterior of the bus.
