I’m glad certain people are being called out for criticising empty seats at Wembley yesterday. Some have become so obsessed with “not selling out” they’ve forgotten the reality of just how expensive football has become. It should embarrass the FA / Wembley more than city.

Well at least we have now found consecutive way to lose without adding to the “more points dropped from a winning position” stat. It’s about the only positive today, this week & this season.

I guess if you have a pre season style starting 11 you shouldn’t be surprised you get a pre season style performance. That’s probably being too fair to some of those players though - because that first half was unacceptably poor. Some have been on summer countdown too long.

Nice to win. Nice to see McBurnie & Egan get the reception they got. Nice to see John Lundstram get the reception he got - and help us towards three points.

Those last 5 minutes were brilliant btw. “We’ll never keep the ball in the corner” said a voice behind. Around six corners and three free kicks later - full time. Wonderful.

Signs of life. That second half was night and day compared to the first. First half as bad as the Adkins season. The second probably as good as anything we have produced this season. The summer is in sight. Cling onto that second half for optimism next year.

The ref, by the way, is a Premier League referee. The standard currently is so low. There’s no justification in not showing a 2nd yellow. Nothing to do with respect either. They need to be better. I’d be useless at it. But it’s not my profession.

Can’t remember being so bored watching us. It’s unfair on pre season games to compare that to them.

Can only assume the ref bottled because it’s only 12 mins in. Just our luck when you consider some of the ridiculous red cards we have had this year.

Defensively - collectively - so fragile. Mentally we are shot as soon as we concede. Relief we already have 50 plus points. I know it’s stating the obvious but the sooner this season ends the better. Coasting & going through the motions till the summer.

We’ve managed to lose a game we were in complete and utter control of until it went to 1-1. Should have been 4 or 5 up by that point. We have seen this ending too many times this season. Can’t remember playing a back 2 before. I’m sure there was a plan with those subs…

If they’ve rejected the appeal for the seriki red card then they might as well do away with the appeal process. Because if that isn’t successful then none will be. It was a nonsense on Saturday. It is still a nonsense now. It will still be a nonsense next week. Nonsense.

In fairness to United you wouldn’t know we had a man less for over an hour. At no point - 0-0, 0-1 or 1-1 - did I ever think we would lose that. People will point to six red cards in a flash - but some of them have been ridiculously weird decisions. Today’s right up there.

More I see it - the more I really hope United appeal that. Their player is running sideways & straight into Bindon if Seriki isn’t there. It’s another baffling ref card - even more so for a Premier League referee. Coincidence Langford is 4th official I suppose. But ironic.

It’s a brilliant goal from Bamford. Langford looked gutted on the touchline. Up the ten men Blades.

Just realised who the 4th official is. Well that makes the red card make sense now.

Our centre backs were fantastic today. Blocked almost everything. Our best two players by a country mile. But Norwich were better than us from the moment we scored and fully deserved the win. Felt it was a matter of time till they got one - and then two.
