So today, I will actually show some LOVE and post my favorite English dub scene. Why do I like it? Goku's dialogue is VERY close to the JP, and as you know, that is what's most important to fans of the source material, Julius Dobos' SS3 theme; its my favorite of the US score, and Sean's performance.

If the dub remained the way it was in the Z era, I'd agree. It doesn't. The scripting of the 90s isn't his fault nor any VAs. Like him or not, Sean cares about the character and went so far as to read the original manga. I know VERY FEW VAs who would do that. He's stated multiple times he wants to honor Akira Toriyama and do the best he can for the character. Multiple times he has told me and I've heard stories of him fighting against dub changes once he realized the mistakes of the Z dub. You are blaming the wrong person.

it’s just not Goku at all. IMO, if the dubbing community wants to evolve, Goku is among one of the many english anime voices that have to outright entirely change. I’m usually one to look for other sources to point at rather than the actor/actress, but in this case, when you go out of your way to insult all other english Goku VA’s to try and make yourself the definitive one, when you dont even sound anything like the source material—THAT’S wild and when I do point at least part of my finger at the actor, who has the knowledge capable of being better. Give Goku back to Peter Kelamis or find a young/new talent. Give the character the respect he deserves.

@KingpinThawne To clarify. This is the 1999 version of the dub. This is where all the voices you know, voice acted for the first time. This is totally different from the redub in 2005 (at least I think it’s that)
