The point of immigration should not be to serve as a staffing agency for employers. Watch @MarkSKrikorian make the case that immigrants should be viewed as future Americans, not just labor inputs:

On December 7, 1971 at the Boys Club of America on Hoe Avenue in the South Bronx, over 100 leaders from roughly 20 different New York street gangs, including the Black Spades and Ghetto Brothers, met to negotiate a truce. The truce was prompted by the murder of Black Benjy, a member of the Ghetto Brothers. The meeting significantly reduced community violence in the area against civilians and created rules of engagement between rival gangs that held until 1981, when crack began to flood inner cities. This gathering is considered a pivotal moment in the history of the Bronx, contributing to the environment that allowed hip-hop culture to emerge. It was also one of the inspirations for the film "The Warriors."

The perfect example of a mission drift: “Bush initially entered electoral politics following her time as a leading voice, organizer, and street medic during the Black Lives Matter protests in Ferguson, Missouri.”

I’m proud to stand with St. Louis’ Bosnian community. Our immigrant neighbors deserve a fighter who will stand up to Trump’s MAGA agenda, not someone who takes money from ICE contractors and war profiteers like our current Congressman. When I’m back in Congress, I’ll fight to abolish ICE, lower costs, and end our complicity in genocide.

🚨 Raymond Utley filmed himself raping a 14-year-old girl and has now been sentenced for nearly 19 years. He groomed her with alcohol and recorded the abuse across multiple towns. He also sexually assaulted two other victims. Utley, from Gainsborough, admitted to rape, indecent assault, and taking indecent images of a child. He was sentenced at Sheffield Crown Court. This is the kind of predator that must be exposed and kept away from society for as long as possible. Monsters like him should never walk free again. Sources: Examiner Live

The United States government has taken down several Indian crime rings that are extremely dangerous. It’s not looking good for India this week.
FBI Los Angeles@FBILosAngeles

Law enforcement partners in the United States, Canada, and Europe have arrested 24 defendants – 11 of them in California – connected to three India-based transnational organized crime groups charged with a litany of criminal acts, including the assassination in Canada in 2023 of a prominent Indian political and religious figure. Today’s law enforcement action – “Operation Hard Ball” – is the result of a years-long federal investigation into Indian crime syndicates that engage in racketeering, targeted killings, shootings, extortion, the trafficking of bulk quantities of narcotics across international borders, and other crimes around the world whose impact is especially felt in the Indian diaspora. In total, 37 defendants – including two defendants who ran their global criminal syndicates while imprisoned in India – are charged across three indictments unsealed today. Those arrested in the United States – 11 in California, one in Indiana, and one in Georgia – are expected to make their initial appearances today in federal court. Three defendants have been arrested in Canada, one defendant was arrested in Spain, and seven defendants already were in custody prior to today’s law enforcement operation. Law enforcement is looking for 10 fugitives – seven in the United States, two in India, and one in Europe. As part of this investigation, law enforcement has seized approximately 1,000 kilograms of cocaine and 1 kilogram of heroin along with $40,000 in cash and a dozen firearms. A total of 23 search warrants have been executed in the Sacramento area and 11 warrants have been executed in the Los Angeles area. @RCMPGRCPOLICE @LAPDHQ @USAO_LosAngeles @HSI @ATF Additional details: justice.gov/usao-cdca/pr/i…

William Whipple, one of the 56 men who signed the Declaration of Independence, later freed the man he had enslaved, believing it was impossible to fight for liberty while denying another person their freedom. William Whipple, one of the 56 men who signed the Declaration of Independence, is said to have reconsidered slavery after his enslaved servant, Prince Whipple, questioned how someone could fight for liberty while keeping another person in bondage. Although the exact exchange cannot be confirmed, William eventually freed Prince after the Revolutionary War, completing his emancipation by 1784. Prince had served alongside Whipple during the war, later married, and became a respected member of the free Black community in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. Whipple’s decision was rare for the time, as most Declaration signers who enslaved people never emancipated those they held in bondage. His story remains one of the strongest examples of Revolutionary ideals shaping an individual’s views on slavery.
