We are thrilled to welcome UC Berkeley’s @UyangaByambaa, who will be helping @thegiftofchess to develop evidenced based research, supporting our goal of distributing 1 million chess sets globally by 2030, proving what we already know — that chess has the ability to impact lives.

We at @thegiftofchess call her the Iron Lady but her name is @PhylisNgigi and she has lead the entire distribution of our chess sets across East Africa (not a small task). This weekend she organized a 7 round G/60 FIDE rated tournament in Kiambu, Kenya with over 400 players from Kenya, Uganda, and Zimbabwe. The pictures speak for themselves.
