I never voted for Tito Sotto before, but credit where it’s due. I honestly respect what he did last night. Since his comeback, he has been standing for what is right more often, and what happened last night proved it again. When the Minority senators walked out and the Senate lost quorum, Tito Sotto immediately pointed it out and moved to adjourn the session. Marcoleta tried to argue and question the rules, but Tito Sen shut it down fast with that line: “Akala ko ba magaling sa rules?” And the thing is, Sotto was absolutely correct based on Senate procedure. The motion to adjourn takes precedence once there’s no quorum. Cayetano couldn’t do anything. Even Loren Legarda, as presiding officer, had no choice but to concede and adjourn the session. Tito Sotto stood his ground. Turns out, the “comedian” understood the Senate rules better than all of them. Maybe tama nga na bumalik ka, Tito Sen. 👏

Ngayon alam na natin kung bakit nagkaroon ng katagang “Bahala na si Batman” kasi ano nga naman ang mapapala natin kay Robin? #BoboNaMayabangPa

The recent Senate walkout by the Minority became even more significant because of former Senate President Tito Sotto, who showed deep mastery of Senate rules and ultimately forced the adjournment of the session. Ironically, the same people who mock him as just a “comedian” watched him outmaneuver lawyers and seasoned politicians through pure procedural knowledge. What also stood out was the arrogance displayed by Senator Rodante Marcoleta during the hearing. When Sen. Risa Hontiveros questioned the rules, Marcoleta attacked her for not being a lawyer instead of addressing the actual issue. Even Sen. Erwin Tulfo called it out as an ad hominem attack. Critics say the issue with Marcoleta goes far beyond that one exchange. Many continue questioning his conduct, positions, and record in public office. Among the controversies often raised against him are: • his major role in the non-renewal of ABS-CBN’s franchise
• his proposal to remove crucifixes in Philippine hospitals
• his statement suggesting Rodrigo Duterte should replace Dr. Jose Rizal as national hero
• his remarks saying Noche Buena no longer needed to be celebrated
• his controversial statement about giving up the Kalayaan Islands to China, which he later denied and claimed was taken out of context
• his promise that households consuming less than ₱2,000 in electricity would no longer pay bills
• and the controversy surrounding the ₱75 million in donations he admitted receiving from friends during his Senate campaign, which is now under Ombudsman scrutiny that he calls “political persecution”. Critics also pointed out the irony of Marcoleta criticizing the Minority walkout when he himself had previously walked out during another Senate hearing. For many observers, this reflects a pattern of aggression, inconsistency, and unnecessary hostility inside the Senate. The larger frustration of many Filipinos is not just about politics, but about dignity and professionalism in the Senate. Many believe debates should focus on laws, accountability, and public service, not arrogance, personal attacks, and political theatrics.

Lord, please help the Philippines. We can’t take this corruption, stupidity, and incompetence anymore… Do not let these morons keep destroying our country.
