@ANC_Historian Love it! You’re probably aware but the Fountainhead auto museum in Fairbanks has what is reportedly the first car in Alaska, this weird little contraption from 1905 or so in Skagway
May 22, 1916, Fourth Avenue, Anchorage. The first car in town reportedly an unspecified REO Motor Cars model brought here in Sep 1915. Joe Spenard also arrived in town around this time with an REO Speedwagon truck. #alaskahistory#alaska#anchoragehistory
@melnickjeffrey1 did you ever see his co-starring role in “two-lane blacktop”? terrible delivery, but exuding charisma and presence, man.
dennis wilson too, but he could actually deliver lines.

So this political scientist is only going to history conferences this year. 😂
Presenting my DoD dictionary civ-mil battle book chapter at @SMH_Historians and NATO terminology chapter at @SHAFRhistorians! Very excited to have infiltrated the historian club…
@melnickjeffrey1 just remembering how my advisor would walk into my and my fellow TA's office, lie on the floor, and rock back and forth trying to stretch his back while briefing us on the next topic for class. he was so casual about it but he must have been in agony. hang in there!
I know I'm a big whiny baby but I'm telling everyone I know that I'm having some lower back/tight hips issues b/c I really appreciate when people ride in with stuff like "omg tell me about it. I spent most of [some period of time] living mostly on a mat on my living room floor"
