Hanif is one of the greatest minds we have. this is so good. this is, perhaps, the look into Jay-Z some people were hoping for previously. it starts as a look back at Reasonable Doubt but it moves to a critique of wealth and power and the idea of Black excellence.

So... my Dad is not doing well. He's been in and out of the hospital for weeks and isn't improving. He's a stubborn SOB but even he is now admitting how badly he's struggling.
I say that to share this..... He called me from his hospital bed yesterday - and while all I wanted to know is how he's doing and feeling, all he cared about was getting my thoughts on the game.
"Are the Mariners going to win?!"
That's how much this means to some people. I just hope he sticks around long enough to see them win it all.
