The children have continued showcasing their learning from our Science topic, 'Living Things and their Habitats' this week. The effort the children have put in has been amazing and they have all been so different which has been wonderful.🌟 #SharingOurLearning

In D&T, we have been working on our stitching skills and have been learning how to use a running stitch to join pieces of material.

This week in phonics, we have been revisiting the spelling 'o' as the sounds 'oa' and 'o'. The children enjoyed applying their knowledge in lots of different ways, including completing a word search and making their own sound cards to build words.

We had some spooktastic entries in our spooky spoon competition this week @friends_of_hf Thank you to all of the children that took part - there was some amazing creations!

The children were recapping their colours this week in our Spanish lesson.

We have been playing some games this week in maths to help us develop our fluency and quick recall of number facts within ten. The children have enjoyed the lessons and I have already seen their speed improving. #Sharinglearning #MathsIsFun @NCETM

This week, some of the children have been sharing their homework projects with the rest of the class. All of the children will be given chance to share what they have learned with their friends at some point this week or next week. #oracy #sharinglearning #science #livingthings

We have been learning about food chains in Science. We have been learning about producers, consumers and predators and how energy is transferred through the chain.

We also went down to church this morning to celebrate Mass with @PaulGrady5. The children were so well behaved and tried so hard to join in with the responses. #ProudTeacher

The children had a great music lesson with @LtdMinshall today working on rhythm. It was lovely to see them writing their own rhythms too.

Yesterday, we launched our DT topic of textiles. We looked at the work of Frank Havrah and talked about the geometric shapes used to create patchworks. The children then had a go at using a template to cut out and create their own patchwork using wrapping paper.

This morning in Come and See, we have been thinking about the signs and symbols we see on our journeys to and from school. The children have plotted their journeys and have thought carefully about the different symbols they may encounter.

In our computing lessons last week, we started to use the program 2sequence to create our own pieces of music.

In maths yesterday, we used the ten frames to represents equations with three addends up to ten.

In maths, we were estimating how many multiples of ten it would take to measure things. We were using the vocabulary associated with the multiples of ten and it generated some excellent mathematical conversation.
