Reports on the US–Iran talks suggest a stark contrast in preparation,raising questions about which side is genuinely intent on reaching a resolution.
The US delegation arrived only on the 11th in a rush.
After landing, Vance is said to have taken a four-hour rest to recover from jet lag.
By the time he reached the negotiating room, the Iranian team had already outlined the main points for the opening round of discussions.
Sources claim the US had not even finalized the agenda with the Pakistani side beforehand and was instead working off a framework put forward by Iran.
This last-minute approach sits uneasily alongside the fact that the US delegation numbered around 300 people.
The US side reportedly brought only a few pages of broad, principle-based proposals, while the Iranian delegation arrived with extensive documentation and draft agreements.
Their materials included over 120 pages of technical specifications on nuclear facility safety alone, suggesting a far higher level of preparation and a clearer commitment to producing concrete outcomes.

A couple of points on the latest in Islamabad:
- You cannot secure through diplomacy what you failed to gain through military aggression.
- The assertion of a 'best and final offer' that JD Vance raised in his press conference is inherently reciprocal; it cannot be a unilateral mandate or a weapon to be used by one side.
- JD Vance's statement that 'they have chosen not to accept our terms,' which attempts to force the other party to accept demands they successfully resisted on the battlefield, is coercive logic.
- It should be noted that throughout this process, the provocations were initiated by the other side, not by Iran.
- JD Vance’s remark regarding an outcome 'that is bad news for Iran' warrants critical scrutiny.
Regardless, credit is due to the brotherly nation of Pakistan for its sincere role in hosting and facilitating these negotiations.

دیپلماسی برای ما ادامه جهاد مقدس مدافعان ایران زمین است. تجربه بدعهدیها و بدسگالیهای آمریکا را فراموش نکرده و نمیکنیم. همانطور که جنایات شنیع ارتکابی آنها و رژیم صهیونیستی در جریان جنگهای تحمیلی دوم و سوم را نخواهیم بخشید.
امروز روز پر کار و طولانی برای هیات نمایندگی جمهوری اسلامی ایران در اسلامآباد بود. مذاکرات فشردهای که از صبح روز شنبه با مساعی جمیله و میانجیگری پاکستان شروع شد تا الان بدون وقفه ادامه داشته و پیامها و متون متعددی بین دو طرف تبادل شده است. مذاکرهکنندگان ایرانی، از همه توان و تجربه و دانش خود برای صیانت از حقوق و منافع ایران بهره میگیرند. داغ سنگین بزرگان و عزیزان و هموطنانمان، عزم ما را در پیگیری منافع و حقوق ملت ایران جزمتر از هر زمانی کرده است.
هیچ چیزی نمیتواند و نباید ما را از پیگیری رسالت سترگ تاریخی خود در قبال میهن محبوب و تمدن شریف ایرانی باز دارد. جمهوری اسلامی ایران مصمم به استفاده از همه ابزارها از جمله دیپلماسی برای تامین منافع ملی و حراست از مصالح کشور است.
در ۲۴ ساعت گذشته در مورد ابعاد مختلف موضوعات اصلی مذاکره شامل تنگه هرمز، موضوع هستهای، غرامت جنگ، رفع تحریمها و خاتمه کامل جنگ علیه ایران و در منطقه، گفتگو شد.
موفقیت این فرآیند دیپلماتیک منوط به جدیت و حسن نیت طرف مقابل و خودداری از زیادهخواهی و خواستههای غیرقانونی، و پذیرش حقوق حقه و منافع مشروع ایران است.
از دولت و مردم خونگرم و شریف جمهوری اسلامی پاکستان بهخاطر میزبانی مذاکرات و مساعی جمیله آنها در پیشبرد این روند قدردانی میکنیم.
