Today, the city proudly broke the Guinness World Record for the Largest Zeibekiko Dance with an amazing 823 participants, smashing the previous record of 754 held by Cyprus. Dancers from around the world, including 🇦🇺 🇨🇾 🇮🇱 🇹🇷 🇷🇴 🇨🇭 🇺🇸 and many more, came together in a beautiful display of culture, unity and passion. The energy was impressive as everyone danced to the powerful tunes of Konstantinos Argyros and his song “Μια Θεσσαλονίκη” (“One Thessaloniki”) A massive thank you and congratulations to every single participant, organizers and supporters who made this historic moment possible. This is more than a record, it’s a celebration of Greek heritage and global friendship!

Η Κύπρος επιδιώκει μόνιμη παρουσία μαχητικών αεροσκαφών της ελληνικής Πολεμικής Αεροπορίας στην αεροπορική βάση «Ανδρέας Παπανδρέου» στην Πάφο. Η Ελλάδα αποφάσισε τη διατήρηση των μαχητικών F-16 στο νησί σε μόνιμη βάση με εναλλασσόμενα πληρώματα, και μαχητικά στο πλαίσιο της αναβάθμισης της αμυντικής συνεργασίας των δύο χωρών. Αυτή η ενισχυμένη στρατιωτική παρουσία βασίζεται στις ακόλουθες εξελίξεις: * Το Αίτημα: Η Λευκωσία είχε ζητήσει ουσιαστική και διαρκή προστασία του κυπριακού FIR, με την Κυπριακή Δημοκρατία και την Ελλάδα να βρίσκονται σε διαρκή συνεννόηση για την ενίσχυση του ενιαίου αμυντικού δόγματος Ελλάδα και Κύπρος.

Μπλόκο σε Τουρκικά κόμματα για Είσοδο στην Ελλάδα που βρίσκονται στην Κόκκινη λίστα των Ελληνικών αρχών ! Απαγορεύτηκε η είσοδος στην ελληνική επικράτεια μέσω του Συνοριακού Σταθμού των Κήπων στην Τουρκάλα πολιτικό Σεβίλ Σαργκίν, ανώτατο στέλεχος του εθνικιστικού κόμματος (Κόμμα της Νίκης). Η απόφαση των ελληνικών αρχών βασίστηκε στο γεγονός ότι η κ. Σαργκίν περιλαμβάνεται στον κατάλογο των ανεπιθύμητων αλλοδαπών για τη χώρα, εξαιτίας της προκλητικής συμπεριφοράς της σε προγενέστερο χρόνο στην Θράκη. Συγκεκριμένα, η συγκεκριμένη πολιτικός είχε απασχολήσει έντονα την επικαιρότητα και είχε προκαλέσει θύελλα αντιδράσεων στην Ξάνθη, όταν κατά τη διάρκεια επίσκεψής της στην περιοχή δεν δίστασε να προχωρήσει σε μια σαφή εθνικιστική πρόκληση, σχηματίζοντας δημόσια τον χαιρετισμό της ακροδεξιάς οργάνωσης των Γκρίζων Λύκων. Η άμεση αναγνώρισή της στο τελωνείο οδήγησε στην αυτόματη ενεργοποίηση των προβλεπόμενων διαδικασιών, με αποτέλεσμα να της αφαιρεθεί κάθε δικαίωμα εισόδου και να υποχρεωθεί σε άμεση αναστροφή προς την τουρκική πλευρά των συνόρων.

🇬🇷🇹🇷⚠️There is a persistent and deeply misleading framing of Greek-Turkish tensions in the Aegean, built around a manufactured false dilemma: that Greece must exercise restraint in asserting its legal sovereign rights in order to preserve stability, maintain a delicate balance, and avoid provoking Turkey into conflict. The notion of a “balance” that must be preserved presupposes two parties with symmetrical but competing claims, both operating in good faith within a shared legal framework. ❌That is not the situation in the Aegean. ‼️Turkey’s claims do not seek to preserve balance; they seek to displace Greek sovereignty across vast areas of the Aegean and Eastern Mediterranean. Maps and doctrines promoted by Turkish officials have extended claims toward Crete and depict large portions of the Aegean-with numerous Greek islands isolated and enclaved-within areas of Turkish jurisdiction. ⚠️These are not defensive claims made in pursuit of “balance.” They are expressions of offensive revisionism. 🚫Turkey’s casus belli against any Greek extension of its territorial sea to 12 nautical miles is not a negotiating position. It is a threat of war against the exercise of an internationally recognised legal right. No country operating in good faith within international law issues such threats. None. ❌This is a false dilemma, engineered to legitimize Turkish revisionism while portraying exercising Greek rights as provocation. The tension exists only because Turkey has made it so-through illegal claims, fabricated disputes, and a doctrine of creeping encroachment. The dilemma is Turkish-authored. Greece did not create it, yet Greece is repeatedly asked to absorb its costs. ⚠️When Greece refrains from extending its territorial sea, it is not preserving peace-it is perpetuating instability. Every year that Greece declines to exercise its rights, it normalizes Turkey’s revisionist claims. ⚠️Non-assertion does not freeze the status quo; it gradually allows unlawful claims to gain political traction through repetition and signals to Ankara that bullying works. It invites further incursions, grey-zone tactics, and renewed demands for the demilitarization of Greek islands, even as Turkey threatens these islands and maintains substantial military forces in the region and disregards its own obligations. 🇪🇺Europe shares responsibility here. A Union that hesitates to defend a member state’s unambiguous legal rights against revisionist intimidation weakens its own credibility as a guarantor of a rules-based order. Silence is not neutrality-it is a subsidy to the aggressor. International law exists precisely to prevent larger powers from bullying smaller states into perpetual self-limitation. ❌The Aegean does not require Greece to shrink its presence for “peace.” It requires Turkey to abandon irredentist fantasies and accept that the sea is governed by law-not by threats.

1- Türkiye is not a party to UNCLOS! 2- The Greeks are even in the wrong according to UNCLOS. According to UNCLOS/7, Sicily/Sardinia are "fringe" islands! 3- The only fringe island in the Aegean belonging to Greece is Euboea, and the equal distance is measured from this island.

You're wrong... Greek islands have the ability to expand by absorbing water! Türkiye obtains some of its basic needs from these islands. Furthermore, they have a population of 40 million. Only 400 people live on Türkiye's coast! Turks have no right to access the sea!
