yesterday I made a comment about how I'm not a fan of making generative art look like paint... or pencil... or watercolor... or any other analog art utensil. I think the tools should embrace the medium and not pretend to be anything else...

The problem with essentialist positions like this is that a grid of coloured rectangles and a succession of small circles that looks like a pencil line are exactly the same for your computer display: rgb instructions. Why does one embrace the medium, and not the other?
