Before the WNBA, there was the WBL - the first Women's Professional Basketball League in the US (1978-1981). Although players like Carol Blazejowski, Molly Bolin, Nancy Lieberman, and Ann Meyers garner name recognition, the league was founded by "unheralded players" who were the best of their era.
