Thank you to the American Heritage Girls Troop VA 0681 for their recent collection drive. Girls in the Explorer collected much-needed items for our families and our preschool.

March is National Social Work Month, and Homestretch celebrates our five social workers this month and every day. Our Social Workers at Homestretch are the dynamic force that helps our families find their voice and break the barriers that prevent them from achieving their goals.

With enough time and effort, and with the right structure and environment; these women have been empowered to change their lives and now work in professions such as nursing, banking and pharmacy. #EmbraceEquity

Today is International Women’s Day. Homestretch celebrates all the women in our program and graduates who have made substantial changes to their lives.

Thank you to Bob's Discount Charitable Foundation for donating a gift card to Homestretch. This donation enabled us to furnish an apartment for a family.

Thank you to our partner @ExcellaCo for volunteering their time on President's Day to help our preschool with some much-needed projects. Volunteers cleaned toys, helped organize items, and built a new bookshelf for the classroom!

This Black History Month, Homestretch recognizes these disparities and remains committed to supporting Black families experiencing homelessness in our community and working to address these inequities in February and always. #BlackHistoryMonth

According to @naehomelessness “disparities in poverty, housing, criminal justice, and health care… can contribute to more African Americans experiencing homelessness.”
