Late night study for me. So I was surprised to see mae 前 mean before. Funny, I was mostly rewatching this with Japanese subs because it actually names the days of the week in show, which I just learned.

-trying to read for me to review when I'm at work, away from my game console. Right now, I am working through a Haruhi game for the PS2, and a PSP game called Shining Blade to learn new language. I think this method will probably work for me like this.

-and Ankidroid connected. Basically, I boot up a Japanese game, and every kanji I see, I type into the dictionary and add to a list. From this list, I then use it's auto Anki export to get it over near instantly. And viola, context based flashcards for something I actually am-

So, let me talk about my japanese study I've been embarking on. Basically, I used Duolingo to learn katakana, and Tae Kim actually helped me wrap my head around the plosive and dakuten marks. That little bit of advice needs to be spread out there man, nobody else has said it-

I'm honestly blown away by what a little study matched with my existing vocab can do. Now I'm even more motivated.

So I tried out playing shining blade today, just the opening cutscene. Never played that game before. And wow, it had voice acting. I think I learned the kanji for Rescue from it. It helped that I knew the word for help me already. I think I understood about 70% of it.

So while the iron is hot, I'll begin to study in earnest to try and overcome the gap.

Basically, I'm done being illiterate in Japanese. Speaking a language is not good enough, when I keep wanting to read it and have consistently failed to do so. I had a breakthrough lately and suddenly I could actually recall both hiragana and katakana without messing up.

Results of today's study. Technically, this is missing all of the yoobu days on the week that I did once I got home. I'm going to try for 8 a day out of the dictionary, and just keep moving forward. The idea is just to familiarize myself with them and their sounds.

Lately, I've become obsessed with studying. It's actually so much more relaxing for me then to actually relax. 😂 I just spent my entire lunch break transcribing kanji. What is wrong with me? 😅🔧

-could emulate super Mario as a choose your own adventure novel, but I'm starting to realize the sections are ballooning. Basically, the Gmooshroom (bootleg goomba) warrants multiple choices in relation to the first question block of the game. That's as far as it goes so far.😂

So for today, I wrote a CYOA story featuring Mari, the infamous cousin of Mario (no actual relation) as he tries to clear stage 1-1 of a bootleg game called Super Mari Bros. So far I've written 16 sections, with 4 Dead ends so far. I was originally trying to just see if you-

So SEAL Basic has actually become pretty refined. What started as a simple rpg system for a gamebook now has a pretty fully fleshed out gameplay system. It's basically now good enough to run standalone adventures in. Now, I just need to figure out discord and I'll try running

A normal day on the beat. I've been getting more active lately, trying to do more then just go home and go to sleep after work.

Just realized this story I have started reading is nearly 3 million words long (The Great Ruler). For reference, the bible is 790,000 words long (new and old). Boys, I think I have made a grave mistake. 😂😅
