@Dr_KOConnor @CRCarter313 I agree. It is learning the why behind it and the research that supports it so that we can be intentional in our presentation, instruction, and implementation of the strategies and materials.

@CRCarter313 Learning an effective sequence of skills to teach and the explanation of why different types of strategies and activities are effective. Most SOR courses are not associated with specific curricula.

@nellkduke If children are able to learn, gain knowledge through play, academics, and exploration, it is possible to be prepared with such skills before K. However, early childhood educators must be treated and paid as educational professionals as well.

@mbrusso2 ESGI is amazing! I definitely recommend it! You can even create an assessment. You are able to track data points and print a parent friendly copy for conferences. Data can also be shared during PLCs.

Advice please 🙏 data, benchmarks, assessments. This is one area I need to work on. I feel I have too many tabs open in this area. Dibels? Easycbm? I'd like an online data/report as well to make it easier to share with my colleagues & parents. Any suggestions would be helpful.

@mbrusso2 I would totally do the same thing. Student growth changes with so many precipitating factors beyond our control. This kind of assessment is ideal for in between benchmarks. I want to know where my students are throughout the year, each nine weeks, in order to enrich or intervene.

Be gentle 😁 I always administer an ORF 3 times a year with the entire class. I keep on hearing about dibels so I plan to make the change, but this past year and several I have been using scholastic 3 minute assessment. Is this something that I shouldn't have used or is it ok? 🤔
