@michellen86 @Ash_lagacy Yes. I also never watched Breaking Bad because I do not like shows where every character is an antagonist. I could never get into biker shows because, frankly, all the "authority figure" characters are not actually authority figures, they are sort of...dirtbags.

@DiegoRoyet41761 You see this a lot less than when I was a kid. I remember until the early 2000s, I would always see flower pattern lace outlines of womens bras and stuff when I was a kid in school. Sometime around the early 2000s, women began wearing less lace and better material to cover it.

@chriswithans I was only 4 years old, but I have always been stunned at how hatefully Americans rejected George H.W. Bush in 1992, just 12-18 months after he had a 90% approval rating.

Bush would’ve won in 1991. Not that it’s a fair comparison since it’s a midterm year now, but Bush would’ve won in 1991, which was before the Soviet Union collapsed. In 1992, people felt like they no longer needed a strong, hawkish Republican in the presidency. The great Soviet threat was gone. Boris Yeltsin made a very friendly speech in Washington in June 1992. The Eastern Bloc was already gone by then. The transition actually began in 1988 and then VP-Bush won his first election easily. Also, in 1992, Republicans gained in the House. This was back when Democrats had a stranglehold on the south (because they are the historical party of the Confederacy). So the loss really was Bush’s alone. In the senate, GOP flipped NC and GA but lost WI and a seat in CA (which was open because Republican Pete Wilson resigned to become governor).

@ReddCinema I didn't expect such a visceral reaction. I just remember when I was a teen circa 2001 there were SO fewer tattoos than by a decade later. I am a boomer at heart but I am only in my thirties.
